Education, Support & Fun

At a minimum, we expect our WING-men to complete their GED, if they have not already done so. We also strongly encourage them to take at least one class at night at Columbia Gorge Community College. The college has been a great community partner for us, as they have provided assessments, testing, and guidance.

Medical & Mental Health Support
We are very grateful for our community partners who are providing an amazing array of services to our WING-men. Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, through their Foundation's Charity Care, are helping with medical expenses and also some mental health counseling. Mid-Columbia Center for Living has also offered reduced rates to allow our WING-men to get the services they need.Kayaking

WINGS is not 'all work and no play'. We understand that recreation is a part of life and we try to offer a variety of recreational opportunities for the WING-men. This year they have been lucky enough to go white-water rafting with Wet Planet, snow boarding with donated gear, hiking, climbing, sledding, swimming and so much more. Board members and community volunteers also work along side the WING-men to teach various skills, especially cooking.
