WINGS opened in Hood River three years ago to offer formerly homeless, unemployed
18 to 23-year-old young men everything they need to learn to become employable and sustainable. We work with four young men at a time and provide them clean and sober, supervised housing, work and job training, continuing education, life skills training, and
all types of support services.

There is no Federal or State funding for this age group. Providing 24/7 staff and support costs WINGS about $35,000 per youth…roughly the same as a year in jail. The work
the young men perform as a supervised crew generates almost 40% of the income for
the program. Please keep us in mind for any type of work you might need done. We bill out by the 1/2 and full day and have our own tools, trailer and liability coverage! We have also added a firewood business this winter. We are selling cords of dry fir for $185 delivered! For every 10 loads we sell, we donate a load to a needy family!

In addition to this “ask,” we hold a giant garage sale in the spring called the Treasure Sale. We would love any sale-able items you might like to donate. We also hold a Hoe-Down every fall, which helps us get through the winter. We are constantly applying for grants and looking for ways to cut costs and increase our sustainability.

We appreciate that you took the time to read this and truly appreciate any support you can provide! Thank you!
